As I mentioned in a previous article I have started collecting images taken during endoscopy and I am complying them into a picture book of images that firstly I hope will act as an educational resource. They can also be downloaded and used in presentation and talks etc so long as you acknowledge Surgeons Net and the site's URL.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank Mr Chisholm at St Peter's hospital for thinking of this idea and supporting the collection of images.
Visit: The Endoscopy Picture Book now.

An independent review of MMC has been setup called the "Tooke Inquiry". They are currently collecting data, opinions and views. It is very important that the views of as many junior doctors as possible are heard and so I would encourage you register and make your voice heard. Visit the Tooke MMC e inquiry for more information.

Neville Menezes has contributed an article to our site on gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. The article looks at the public health implications as well as diagnosis and management.
Surgeons Net is also going to be starting and endoscopy picture book, so look back often for news of this new section.

Today the government announced that the controversial doctor's training application system (MTAS) is to be scraped. The full story is on the BBC website.
I did especially like the statement from Matt Jamieson Evans:
"I fail to see how they could have envisaged using it. This was the only option on offer - which they have presented as a decision."
I think he is absolutely right, the website has been out of action for weeks and there wasn't really any other options.
